The Celebrity Reflection
Published Tuesday, December 11th 2012 - Updated Tuesday, December 11th 2012Celebrity is Modern Luxury – what is Modern Luxury? According to Celebrity, it is “Doing as much (or as little) as you choose. Not your usual routine? Excellent. Because we believe every moment of your vacation should be measured by just how far it takes you from the ordinary.” - Celebrity has absolutely nailed this with the Celebrity Reflection!
I had the pleasure of sailing on the inaugural sailing and attending the naming ceremony. The Reflection is stunning! The final ship in the Solstice Class has the favorite features of the Solstice Class with a future features all her own.
Unique to the Celebrity Reflection is their first 2-bedroom suite – the Reflection Suite. This suite is over 1600 sq feet, has a sea-view bathroom with a cantilever shower that is extended over the edge of the ship. You have European butler service 24/7, and much of the suite is remotely controlled via an app on the in-suite iPad. Amazing is the best word to describe this suite!
Speaking of suites – the ship has 7 categories of suites including the Signature Suites and Reflection Suite which are located in a private area accessible only to Signature Suite and Reflection Suite guests.
All of the accommodations, regardless of category are all elegantly appointed, thoughtfully designed, with function and comfort in mind.
The food onboard the ship is excellent and there is something for everyone. The traditional dining room provided excellent service and a nice menu variety. The specialty restaurants have modest cover charges, but the value is excellent. Like the other Solstice class ships, there is Q-sine (you order food and wine from your iPad), Murano, Tuscan Grill, and Blu (reserved for the Aqua Class guests). There is the Bistro on Five, the Café al Bacio and Gelaterio (I highly recommend the mango gelato!). The Porch is a new dining option on the Reflection (at the Lawn Club) and is quick, simple, fresh food. The Lawn Club Grill is also new on the Reflection, guests have the option to grill their own food or have a chef grill it for them. Of course there is also a buffet and room service! You will not go hungry!
The Lawn Club is slightly different with the addition of the new dining venues and art studio. I love the new alcoves – a cabana style haven available for rental. Of course the hammocks and big chairs are fun and comfy as well.
One of my favorite new areas is “The Hideaway” – located on Deck 7, the perfect place for relaxing!
The entertainment is top notch and there is a variety to choose from. The Aqua Spa features an expanded Persian Garden, and the fitness center rivals some of the best land-based gyms. They have a small “private gym” available, and you can even purchase your favorite equipment and have it shipped to your home. In the iLounge (Celebrity is an authorized Apple reseller) you can take classes, use computers, or purchase Apple products. Clubs and Lounges – oh yes… The martini bar and the molecular bar were two of my favorites – not just for the drinks, but the great atmosphere at each of them. Are you in the mood to dance? Karaoke? Live music? It’s all there and more!
I have not even touched the surface of all this fabulous ship has to offer! I have posted some of my pictures on my facebook page at www.facebook.com/CruiseVacationsAndMore make sure to check them out!
