Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Cruise Planners National Convention at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL.  The accommodations, service, and dining choices should suit any traveler’s needs.

The resort is approximately 15-20 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale airport, and the cab fare is approximately $28-$30. 

The staff certainly aimed to please when it comes to customer service.  When we checked in, it was very busy as one might expected on check-in day for a large group.  The staff did their best to accommodate and when rooms were not available, they took cell phone numbers and called when the rooms were ready.  We were attending a large convention, and the resort was very well prepared and the event ran smoothly.
 

The resort recently completed a $7.8 million dollar renovation of the guest rooms and suites.  The accommodations are very nice and range from deluxe rooms (450 sq. ft.) to the Roxy Suite (550 sq. ft.).  We had deluxe queen and the room was spacious, well appointed, and quite functional for us.  I would have no hesitation recommending these rooms for either roommates or couples – although couples would certainly prefer the deluxe king rooms.   Upon check-in you are provided the option of nightly turn down service, or you can decline it.  I appreciate being given the option!   There are smoking and non-smoking rooms available, we were in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, but still caught the occasional whiff of smoke.

The resort is pet friendly; pets up to 40lbs are welcome for an additional fee.

Dining choices abound!  There are dining options within the resort itself as well as multiple dining venues just outside the resort in the Seminole Paradise Area.  There are more than a dozen options to choose from – not to mention the 24 hour room service!

The casino is over 140,000 sq. ft. with slots, table games, and poker.   The casino is quite smoky, but there is a small (very small) non-smoking section.

The pool area is fabulous!!!  The pool has massive waterfalls, there are hot tubs, cabanas, a wading pool, a water slide, and of course – a pool bar!  It is an amazing tropical oasis in the midst of a resort.

The entertainment is top-notch at the resort.  The entertainment schedule varies and they bring in top name entertainers on a regular basis.  There are plenty of clubs to choose from for those who seek nightlife.
