I have been to San Antonio, TX twice in the last 3 weeks.  Each were very different trips with very different experiences; both reignited my passion about San Antonio!

Two weeks ago I stayed at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort.  In a word - WOW!  This resort is on the outskirts of town and is a destination of its own.  This resort has everything you could want or need for a long weekend or even a longer trip.  The food and service at this resort are top notch and there is something for everyone.  Let's start with the mini water park and lazy river - a must do for kids of all ages!  The resort has designated children's activities during the day and some in the evening during peak season.  Personally - I loved all of the adult-centric activities available.  They have great quiet, cozy places to sit and relax, have quiet conversation, or enjoy the scenery,  I love the fire pits!  They have an amazing spa - one of the largest in Texas!  The spa and fitness center actually have their own building.  Of course there is a great sports bar, and in true Texas style, a tequila bar as well.  If for some reason you would want to leave the resort, you can just check out a BMW for 4 hours at no extra charge.  Yes, really!  I absolutely love this resort and hope to return for a non-business trip in the not too distant future.  If you would like to see some pictures, please visit my facebook page at www.facebook.com/CruiseVacationsAndMore

Last week I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk.  This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location.  The hotel has a beautiful lobby / atrium area.  One of the features is the glass elevators - although beautiful, for someone that is afraid of heights and staying on the10th floor - they are a bit large... then again - it is Texas...  The hotel has a spa on the river level as well as a chocolate shop and a reasonably priced boutique, along with a glass art shop.    The pool and fitness center are located on the 11th floor.  The bar / restaurant on the lobby level has a great happy hour M-TH from 4 -6; I highly recommend this!  As is important in all real estate - location, location, location!!!  If you exit the back of the hotel on the river level, you are in the heart of the famous San Antonio Riverwalk.  If you exit the front of the hotel on the river level and follow the beautifully landscaped path (complete with mini water falls) you come to Alamo Plaza.  San Antonio's 2 most famous land marks, the river walk and the Alamo - just steps from the hotel.  Alamo Plaza is the center of activity - here is where you can catch the trolley's to visit other areas of town (such as the other missions, historic distric, or market square) - or my favorite - the horse drawn carriage rides.  Also, be sure not to miss The Alamo in the evening - it is absolutely beautiful lit up at night.  I love the horse drawn carriage rides at night....

San Antonio has so much to offer - let's not forget about some of the other popular attractions:  Ripley's Believe it or Not, Madaam T's Wax Museum, Market Square and Hemispere Park - all easily accessible from Alamo Plaza.  A little further from the riverwalk area is Sea World and Fiesta, TX - a great place for the families.

I know this is a little longer than most of my blogs - but San Antonio has so much to offer - I haven't even hit the tip of the iceberg.  I hope in the future, if you are considering a trip to TX - or live in TX and need a getaway, you will consider San Antonio.  If you have visited this great city, please feel free to share any of your San Antonio memories with us!
