Cruising and Dining - the perfect combination!
Published Monday, October 22nd 2012 - Updated Monday, October 22nd 2012One of the most commonly asked questions when client books a cruise is about the food!
On a cruise, each cruise line offers included dining in the main dining rooms, buffets and snack venues. You will certainly not go hungry based on these options alone!
There are also some excellent alternative options in the Specialty Dining restaurants. These restaurants do have a cover charge, usually ranging from $10 per person - $40 per person depending on the cruise line and restaurant. Again, these are optional – you can certainly survive and blissfully dine 3 – 6 times a day (and still gain 10 pounds!) on a cruise ship without going to a specialty restaurant.
If you are a couple traveling for a special occasion such as your honeymoon, anniversary, or other life milestone, and you are not traveling with a large group of people – a specialty restaurant can be that perfect special occasion dinner for just the 2 of you. That special dinner can really help a couple celebrate those special moments.
A couple of my favorites are Crown Grill on Princess, they serve premium aged beef and fresh seafood items. Being a Texas girl, I love my steaks! On Celebrity, I love Murano, a contemporary take on classic French cuisine, the tableside lobster preparation is not to be missed – and the lobster just melts in your mouth. For those that like churrascaria style restaurants, Moderno Churrascaria on the Nowegian Epic is not to be missed!
Of course my favorite part of the meal is always dessert, those of you that know me, you know that I am one of the biggest chocoholics there is! Two of my most favorite desserts while cruising the seven seas are the fabulous chocolate melting cake on Carnival Cruise Lines, and of course – the Princess Cruises Love Boat Dream Dessert!
This is only a small sampling of the dining options available when cruising. Whether you like a casual pool side café, a buffet, or gourmet fine dining, the options are out there for you.
